Garden maintenance

The same gardeners, the same day each week.

How it works

We schedule your garden on a fixed day, with the same people. They learn it — where the water reaches, which corner dries first, what was planted when.

Technical work and planting — complex pruning, tree work, anything structural — are done on site, in person, by someone who will still be looking after the garden next year.

Everyone working in your garden came up through agriculture. It shows in what they notice — a plant that is struggling a week before it looks like it, a patch of lawn greener than it ought to be.

If something breaks or a plant fails, we tell you and we sort it. Usually you hear it from us before you would have noticed it yourself.

The heavy work happens in winter

We schedule structural pruning and tree work for January to March, and replanting and anything needing machinery between October and March.

A cut made in July is a wound opened in the hottest, driest part of the year — the plant is already under stress, it has no spare water to close the cut with, and the exposed wood sits in full sun. The same cut in January costs the plant almost nothing, and by the time it matters the plant has a whole spring to recover. Winter is also the only time of year you can see what you are doing: on a deciduous tree the structure is visible.

The practical effect for you is that in the months you are actually here, we keep the garden going rather than rebuild it. By June the work is routine and quiet.

How we quote

We quote every garden individually. Two gardens of 4,000 m² — one walled, with mature palms, the other an open courtyard — are not the same job, and a fixed rate would overcharge one and undercharge the other.

What you get before anything starts: the number of gardeners, the hours, the day of the week, and the figure.

The figure does not change without a conversation.

What's included, what isn't

Every visit includes labour at the quoted rate.

It does not include waste management, travel or machinery — we itemise those separately, because they vary by property. Where green waste can be shredded and left on site as mulch it costs less and the soil is better for it; where it has to be transported away, it costs more.

One clear next step

You will know what you are paying for before the first visit, and the figure will not change without a conversation.
